What I Learned from Las Vegas

So I'm back from four wonderful days in Las Vegas and here's what it taught me:

1) Expect to hear strange things. On my way to my room from the lobby, having just checked in, I overheard from an open room "Don't deny it. The baby's yours."
2) Every Italian is visiting Las Vegas and they’re all staying at the Venetian. You might think that they'd want to stay in a hotel not themed in their own country, but then you'd be wrong.
3) I loathe Harrah's with a fiery passion. The monorail station we had to catch everyday was in Harrah's aka the tackiest, lowest ceiling, gross casino/hotel on the strip.
4) Even someone as short as I can feel claustrophobic in a casino. (See #3 Harrah's ceilings comment.)
5) The Star Trek experience at the Hilton is the coolest thing ever! No joke it was awesome.
6) People outside of Marin are overweight.
7) Las Vegas has sucky pools. Oh yes it's hot and yet I only spent one day in the pool.
8) Biospheres are crazy cool. They had the fake world of Venice in a place like the Truman show.
9) If you pretend you don't speak English guys trying to sell you stuff let you go away. (In another note pretending to be from the country of their cheesy accent works very well because they quickly drop it and tell you to just go with a plain boring American accent.)
10) If that city every got a sports team it would be absolute insanity.
